1. Nightkeeper
  2. Warden

Warden is the staff team your server never had.

Every Nightkeeper server comes with Warden, an AI staff team that works every shift. It moderates, investigates, fixes and reports, and it only goes as far as you let it.

What Warden handles

Chat

Warden reads every message, then reviews chat in context in small batches. Before matching anything, it undoes the usual dodges: l33t speak, look-alike letters, spaced-out and stretched-out words. It also knows the difference between a slur and an innocent word that happens to contain one. It handles hate speech, harassment, threats, self-harm encouragement, posting someone's IP or phone number, floods, repeats and other servers' ads.

Griefing

Every placed block has an owner. When someone breaks another player's build, empties their chests, or puts lava, fire or TNT next to it, Warden ties it to that player with the exact block states. It can freeze an active griefer, restore the damage block for block, and keep guarding the area afterwards so anything broken after the rollback is put back too.

X-ray

Honest miners dig a lot of stone per diamond vein and find many veins exposed in caves. X-rayers tunnel straight to hidden ones. Warden scores both, compares them with legit odds, and shows an evidence map of the tunnel against the ores. By default it brings strong cases to you instead of banning on a hunch.

Lag and memory

When TPS drops and stays down, Warden finds the hottest chunk and the player who built the most hoppers or redstone there. It can clear runaway entities and tells you who and what caused it. It also watches memory pressure and slow leaks.

Crashes and freezes

If the server crashes, Warden restarts it and sends you the end of the console log. It notices a server that is running but frozen, and it stops restarting if the server is stuck in a crash loop, so you get a clear report instead of a server that flaps all night.

Raids

A sudden wave of first-time joins is usually not a coincidence. Warden locks the server down until it passes.

Player support

Players open a ticket with /ticket in game or on your server's support page. Warden investigates before it answers: it checks the player's history, compares a suspicious death with server performance at that moment, and looks up grief cases. It resolves what it can and escalates the rest to you with a note.

Reports, and a copilot for you

Each day Warden writes a shift report: uptime, players, incidents by type, tickets and the moderator time it saved you. You can also ask Warden questions about your server in plain English. Any console command it suggests comes to you as a card to approve.

How Warden decides

  1. Detect. Fast, rule-based detectors watch chat, blocks, containers, joins, performance and uptime.
  2. Contain. Unambiguous cases are contained instantly, before any AI call: a slur mutes, an active griefer freezes, a raid locks down.
  3. Build a case. Signals about the same player and problem merge into one case with an evidence timeline.
  4. Decide. The AI reviews the case with the evidence, the player's history, recent chat and your server's rules. It picks a proportionate response and writes down its reasoning and confidence. If it decides it was a false alarm, the containment is reversed automatically.
  5. Check your limits. The decision goes through your autonomy settings. Anything above your cap waits for your approval.
  6. Act and log. Every action is recorded with who or what took it and why, and can be undone in one click.

If the AI is ever unavailable, Warden falls back to its rules engine, so moderation keeps working.

You set the limits

For each area (chat, griefing and rollbacks, x-ray, lag and crashes) you choose one of four modes:

ModeWhat Warden does
OffNothing in this area.
ObserveWatches and logs, takes no action.
Ask firstPrepares the action with its evidence and waits for your yes.
AutomaticActs on its own and tells you afterwards.

On top of that, you set the heaviest action Warden may take without asking. Set it to kick, and every ban waits for you, whatever mode an area is in.

Why AI instead of more staff

Warden doesn't get bored at 4am, play favourites, hand out ranks to friends or abuse its powers. It writes down why it did everything. And it comes with the server, so you don't have to recruit, train and replace a team. Read more about the category in what an AI staff team is.
